The Who were part of what has been termed the second wave of the British Invasion. In fact, the band didn't even form until 1964. In that year they released their first single - "I'm The Face" They didn't score a British hit until they recorded "I Can't Explain" and the anthemic hit: "My Generation". Band members: Pete Townshend – songwriter, guitarist; John Entwistle – bass guitar; Keith Moon – drums; Roger Daltrey - vocals, plus their original managers Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp. They gained popularity, by being one of the better live acts on the circuit with Pete destroying his guitars, and Keith with his drums too, on stage, this gave them maximum publicity. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide and establishing their reputation equally on live shows and studio work. We'll be fighting in the streets

With our children at our feet
               A                        D                     E       C  G
And the morals that they worship will be gone
               A                            D
And the men who spurred us on

Sit in judgement of all wrong

They decide and the shotgun sings the song

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war
D  A  D  A…
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!
D    B
I'll move myself and my family aside
E
If we happen to be left half alive
      A
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky

Do ya?
              A                     D
There's nothing in the streets
A  D  A  D…
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
D  A  D  A…
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!
