The Who were part of
what has been termed the second wave of the British Invasion. In fact, the band
didn't even form until 1964. In that year they released their first single -
"I'm The Face" They didn't score a British hit until they recorded
"I Can't Explain" and the anthemic hit: "My Generation".
Band members: Pete Townshend – songwriter, guitarist; John Entwistle – bass
guitar; Keith Moon – drums; Roger Daltrey - vocals, plus their original
managers Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp. They gained popularity, by being one of
the better live acts on the circuit with Pete destroying his guitars, and Keith
with his drums too, on stage, this gave them maximum publicity. They are
considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century,
selling over 100 million records worldwide and establishing their
reputation equally on live shows and studio work. Stay with us, and check this
