Singer and songwriter, George Ezra, first came to attention when BBC Introducing in his adopted home of Bristol picked up on a handful of tracks posted online. The son of an art teacher and a deputy head, George Ezra was born on 6 June 1993. He is a singer songwriter from Bristol, United Kingdom. Ezra grew up in Hertford, attending Simon Balle Secondary School. He released his debut EP Did You Hear the Rain? in October 2013, his second EP Cassy O' was released in March 2014. Ezra was longlisted for the BBC Sound of…2014, where he eventually finished in fifth place. The song “Budapest” charted in Italy at number 6 on the Italy Top 20 and was certified platinum. Ezra’s music is described as deep, bluesy and mournful - particularly in tracks such as “Budapest” - and is peppered with influences from the likes of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie.
