After his birth, he was given too much oxygen, causing Stevie Wonder to suffer permanent blindness. Despite this handicap he became one of the best musicians in the whole world. Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950, in Detriot. Stevland Hardaway Judkins, known by his stage name Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and activist. His best known works include singles such as Superstition, I Just Called To Say I Love You, Part time lover, Sir Duke, etc. He was signed to the Tamla Motown record label at the age of just 12 under the name Little Stevie Wonder. He continues to perform and record for the label to this day. He has nine U.S. number-one hits to his name and album sales totaling more than 100 million units.
