Formed in 1969, Mungo Jerry started out as a Jug band and has known a massive international success in the pop field. At the heart of the Mungo Jerry band stands the leader and soul of the group, a songwriter as well as a great singer and performer: Ray Dorset. Members of Mungo Jerry: Joe Rush - drums, Paul King - guitar, Colin Earl – Keyboard,  Mike Cole – bass guitar, Ray Dorset : vocals, guitar. They released many albums and singles. The most famous and instantly recognizable hit is the one and only In The summertime, the classic which has won Ray numerous coveted musical awards. It remains their most successful and most instantly recognisable song. The record topped the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks, made No. 1 in 26 countries around the world and to date has sold around 30 million units.
